Book Exhibition on Philosophy and Teachings of Swami Vivekananda organized at Multani Mal Modi College

Multani Mal Modi College today organized a book exhibition in collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Pune on the teachings and philosophy of swami Vivekananda, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Ramakrishna Math and to mark the 75th anniversary of Indian Freedom struggle. In this exhibition the prominent books of Indian Philosophy, Vedic Science, Inspirational books, the classic religious texts, books on spiritual growth cum mental development and books on Yoga were exhibited. Padam Shri Dr. R L Mittal, renowned Orthopedic Surgeon was chief guest in this event.

College Principal Dr. Neeraj Goyal inaugurated the exhibition and motivated the students to follow the path of great philosopher and Indian thinker Swami Vivekananda. He said that his concept of humanity and internationalism is our guiding force to bring peace and prosperity to India. He said that in the era of social media and the internet, today’s youth have least interest in books, but this kind of book exhibitions certainly motivate them.

In his address Padam Shri Dr. RL Mittal discussed how the education philosophy of Swami Vivekananda is based on the universal principles of morality, and ethics. He said that his teaching of ‘Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached’ should be the guiding force of our youth. He said, whatever he has achieved in his life, that is all because of the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਅੱਜ ਰਾਮਾਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਮੱਠ ਦੀ 125ਵੀਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸੁਤੰਤਰਤਾ ਸੰਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ 75ਵੀਂ ਵਰ੍ਹੇਗੰਢ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ‘ਤੇ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਵਿਵੇਕਾਨਦਨਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫਲਸਫੇ ‘ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਰਾਮਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਮੱਠ, ਪੁਣੇ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਲਗਾਈ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰ, ਵੈਦਿਕ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ, ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ, ਕਲਾਸਿਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ, ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ/ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਲਗਾਈ ਗਈ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਪਦਮ-ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਵਿਜੇਤਾ ਤੇ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਸਰਜਨ ਡਾ. ਆਰ. ਐਲ ਮਿੱਤਲ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ।

ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ.ਨੀਰਜ ਗੋਇਲ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਾਨ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚਿੰਤਕ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਵਿਵੇਕਾਨੰਦ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ‘ਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਕਲਪ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਟਰਨੈਟ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਦਾ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਖਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਰੋਤ ਬਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਦਮ-ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਡਾ. ਆਰ.ਐਲ. ਮਿੱਤਲ ਨੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਵਿਵੇਕਾਨਦਾ ਦਾ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਫ਼ਲਸਫ਼ਾ ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਦਭਾਵਨਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ‘ਉੱਠੋ, ਜਾਗੋ ਅਤੇ ਟੀਚੇ ‘ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੱਕ ਨਾ ਰੁਕੋ’ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸਾਡੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਾਰਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਕ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਵੀ ਮੁਕਾਮ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵਾਮੀ ਵਿਵੇਕਾਨੰਦ ਦੀ ਫਿਲਾਸਫ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਹਿਮ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਅਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਸਟਰ ਵੀ ਰੱਖੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰੀ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਪਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਖਰੀਦੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਡਾ. ਅਰਵਿੰਦ ਮਿੱਤਲ, ਕਾਲਜ ਲਾਈਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਅਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਅਜੇ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਰਹੇ।
